Installation of a translucent stretch ceiling with LED backlighting in a sneaker store at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. The project includes a gypsum bulkhead construction, installation of 4000K LED lighting with 24V power supply, and professional stretch ceiling membrane installation to create a clean and evenly illuminated retail environment.
For this project, our team installed a translucent stretch ceiling with LED backlighting in a sneaker store located in the Mall of the Emirates. The goal was to create clean, modern lighting that evenly illuminates the space and highlights the products on display.
The lighting system uses 4000K neutral white LED strips with a 24V power supply, controlled by a simple on/off switch. This color temperature is ideal for retail environments because it provides natural, comfortable light that accurately shows product colors.
The installation process consisted of three main stages.
Gypsum Bulkhead Construction
The first stage was the installation of a gypsum bulkhead that serves as the structural base for the stretch ceiling system.
The bulkhead was carefully built to the required dimensions to ensure proper depth for LED lighting and membrane installation. The surface was then finished and painted in white, creating a clean reflective interior that helps distribute the light evenly once the ceiling is installed.
This gypsum structure also hides all technical components such as LED strips, drivers, and wiring.
After completing the bulkhead, the next step was installing the LED lighting system.
High-quality 4000K LED strips with a 24V power supply were mounted inside the bulkhead. The LEDs were installed using specialized aluminum LED profiles, which improve heat dissipation and ensure long-term performance.
The system also includes LED drivers, which convert power to the required voltage and guarantee stable operation of the lighting.
All electrical connections were carefully installed and tested to ensure consistent illumination across the entire ceiling surface.
The final stage was the installation of the translucent stretch ceiling membrane.
The membrane was heated and carefully stretched into the installed perimeter profile system. Once installed, the translucent material diffuses the LED light, creating a uniform glowing ceiling surface without visible light points.
The result is a clean, modern ceiling that provides soft and evenly distributed lighting, perfect for a retail environment such as a sneaker store.
The finished ceiling not only enhances the interior design but also improves the overall shopping experience by providing comfortable, high-quality lighting.
